Diese Sendung enthält eine Anzahl Country- und Western-Songs, die eher selten gespielt werden. Einige Titel kommen aus „The Music Of Your Life“, dem „Goldenen Jahrzehnt“ der frühen 1950er Jahre, als die verschiedenen Musiksparten noch nicht allzu getrennt waren und Country- und Western-Songs „side-by-side“ mit damaligen populären Schlagern im täglichen Musikprogramm der unzähligen Mittelwellen-sender in Amerika ertönten. Disk Jockeys jener Zeiten erzählten mir mit Stolz, dass das Programmieren in ihrem Ermessen lag. „Was gut tönte, wurde gespielt!“. Bing Crosby war schon früh dabei mit seinem Album “I’m an old cowhand”. Über die Jahre hinweg mischten auch bekannte „nicht-Country-Stars“ mit. Z.B.: Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, „The Italian Boy Vic Damone. Bekannte Country Stars sangen Titel, die von “Crooners” bekannt gemacht worden waren und so zum „Country-Song“ oder „Cross-Over-Song“ wurden. Schliesslich hören Sie auch Country Music aus Nashville, Tennessee, the Country Music Capital of the World and Music City USA. Dass diese Musik auch bei Instrumentalisten Anklang fand zeigen die Eröffnungsmelodie “Walking The Floor Over You” des Jazz-Klarinettisten Pete Fountain aus New Orleans, zusammen mit Nashville Musikern und die Schlussnummer “King Of The Road” vom Posaunisten und Big Bandleader Si Zentner aus Las Vegas.

This broadcast includes a number of Country and Western Songs, that are not often played. Some titles come out of “The Music of Your Life”, the “Golden Decade” of the early 1950s. At that time, music genres were not as separated as they are today and Country and Western songs were played “side by side” with other popular songs. Disk jockeys who worked in those years told me with pride, that they selected the songs: “If it sounded good and got good response, we played it over and over again!” Bing Crosby, not really a Country singer, came up with an album “I’m An Old Cowhand”. Later on, musicians such as Louis Armstrong and Piano Player/Vocalist Nat King Cong as well as crooner Vic Damone, one of the “Sons Of Italy”, hopped on that Country wagon too. On the other hand, known Country singers sang songs made popular by crooners. Of course you will also hear songs from Nashville, Tennessee, The Country Music Capital of The World and Music City USA. Jazz Musicians like clarinetist Pete Fountain of New Orleans, accompanied by musicians of Nashville as well as Big Band Leader and Trombone Player Si Zentner of Las Vegas published Country songs. They open and close the show respectively.
